Biography
Dr Mark Benzimra is a respiratory physician with a particular interest in the management of advanced end-stage lung diseases, lung transplantation, interventional bronchoscopy, and the investigation and ongoing management of chronic airway conditions.
After graduating from the University of Leeds Medical School in 2000, Mark completed his basic medical training in Australia. After 5 years, he returned to the UK, and subsequently worked at a number of hospitals across London including St Thomas’s, Westminster and the Royal Free Hospitals.
Deciding to make Sydney his home in 2008, Mark undertook his advanced thoracic medicine training and a further 3 years’ training in intensive care medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital.
Mark is a keen academic and has authored a number of peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers and abstracts. His ongoing clinical research and his appointment as Lecturer at the University of New South Wales ensures that he stays up to date with the latest evidence-based respiratory interventions.
