Biography

Dr Mark Connellan is a Cardiothoracic and Heart Transplantation Surgeon located in Sydney. He has been a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon at St Vincent’s Private and Public Hospitals in Sydney since 2016.

Dr Connellan is a cardiothoracic surgeon who is an active member of a multidisciplinary cancer care team that coordinates care for people with lung cancer. He completed a Cardiothoracic and Transplant Fellowship at the St Vincent’s Hospital, obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2014. He is also a Fellow of College of Cardiothoracic Surgeons of South Africa.

Dr Connellan’s area of interest is in adult cardiac surgery, lung cancer surgery, mechanical circulatory support (VAD) therapy, and heart and lung transplantation. In addition to English, he speaks Afrikaans and German.
