Biography

Dr Mark Connellan is a cardiothoracic and transplant surgeon with special interest in adult thoracic and cardiac as well as transplant and mechanical support therapy.

Dr Connellan is an active member of a multidisciplinary cancer care team that coordinates care for people with lung cancer. He completed a Cardiothoracic and Transplant Fellowship at the St Vincent’s Hospital, obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2014. He is also a Fellow of College of Cardiothoracic Surgeons of South Africa.

Dr Connellan’s area of interest is in adult cardiac surgery, lung cancer surgery, mechanical circulatory support (VAD) therapy, and heart and lung transplantation. In addition to English, he speaks Afrikaans and German.
