Biography
Dr Mark Nalder is an experienced Medical Oncologist with special interests in treatments of cancers of the gastrointestinal & urological tracts, skin and lung.
Dr Nalder graduated with bachelor’s degrees in medicine, surgery and psychology and completed his physician and medical oncology specialisation training in numerous hospitals throughout Queensland. He subsequently completed a clinical research Fellowship at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he led a multi-institutional genomics trial designed to reduce the toxicity of chemotherapy, and also undertook research in collaboration with the Queensland Cancer Alliance and The University of Queensland, Centre for Health Services Research in understanding immunotherapy treatment outcomes in Queensland.Dr Nalder is appointed as a Staff Specialist in Medical Oncology at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and consults and sees patients privately at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Northside. He maintains an active research interest – as a principal investigator and co-investigator on numerous clinical trials with active involvement in several Australian collaborative research groups. He has presented research both nationally and internationally. He is a Lecturer at the University of Queensland and has an active role in education of medical students and medical oncology trainees across Queensland.
Most importantly, Dr Nalder is a compassionate excellent communicator, focused on ensuring patients and their families are informed, involved and supported throughout their treatment.
