Biography

Dr Matthew Conron is a respiratory and sleep physician providing extensive specialist advice and care to people with respiratory and sleep disorders.

Dr Conron has a clinical interest in lung cancer. He is highly regarded and experienced in his field and is currently the Director of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital.

After graduating from Monash University, Matthew undertook physician training at the Alfred Hospital, before moving to the UK and completing his training at the Royal Brompton Hospital.

He conducted a study of virus-mediated gene delivery while at Imperial College London. For this work he received a Doctor of Medicine and a European Young Scientific Investigators award.

Since 2002, Matthew has combined clinical practice with an interest in translational lung cancer research, interstitial lung disease and health services research. He has a particular interest in the translation of advances in basic science to clinical care
