Biography
Dr Matthew Sherlock is an experienced orthopaedic surgeon with a particular interest in sports injuries, trauma and joint replacement surgery in the shoulder and elbow. He is dedicated to faster outcomes and better recoveries for patients.
Dr Matthew Sherlock is an orthopaedic surgeon with over 15 years’ experience. He specialises in sports injuries, trauma and joint replacement and has a sub-specialty expertise in shoulder and elbow surgery. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive or arthroscopic techniques which give better outcomes and faster recovery times for patients.Matthew graduated in medicine and surgery from the University of Sydney and completed his orthopaedic training on the Australian Orthopaedic Training Programme. He subsequently completed fellowships in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and elbow in Canberra, Canada and France.
Matthew currently holds appointments at the Mater Hospital, the Sydney Adventist Hospital and Mona Vale Public Hospital. He is a consultant at the NSW Academy of Sport, Narrabeen and has worked as the team doctor for the Waratah Junior Academy, Warringah and Gordon rugby clubs.
Matthew has published numerous research publications and is actively involved in educating both medical students and orthopaedic trainees. He is responsible for organising the annual in-training examination for advanced trainees of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
