Biography
Dr Michael Guiney is a Melbourne-based radiation oncologist who works in conjunction with other oncologists to deliver co-ordinated treatment plans for patients with cancer who require radiation treatment.
Dr Guiney is a radiation oncologist who treats cancer patients with radiation therapy. He works collaboratively with medical oncologists to create and deliver therapy programs for cancer patients.Michael graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1979 and then undertook specialist training in medical oncology in 1986.. He gained further oncology training at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute (PMCI) receiving his Fellowship in radiation oncology in 1988. He was a staff specialist at PMCI until 1998 during which time he was head of the gastroenterological unit from 1992 to 1998.
Michael is a founding partner of GenesisCare Radiation Oncology Victoria, established in 1991.
