Biography

Dr Michael Stening is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip and knee replacements, knee arthroscopy, and paediatric and adolescent ACL reconstructions. Dr Stening also has a particular interest in anterior minimally invasive hip replacement and patient specific knee replacement surgery.

After graduating from the University Of Sydney in 1997, Dr Michael Stening commenced surgical training at Royal Prince Alfred, gaining entry to the Orthopaedic Surgeon training scheme Sydney Northside. He subsequently completed fellowships in hip and knee arthroplasty and paediatric orthopaedics.
 
Dr Stening is a well-established orthopaedic surgeon across Sydney, having been in clinical practice since 1999. As well as his own work, Dr Stening is actively involved in teaching orthopaedic trainees and was also recently appointed to Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Court of Examiners, the peak examining body of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
