Biography

A/Prof Raj Reddy manages cranial and spinal conditions in adults and children, with expertise in both surgical and non-surgical treatment.

He specialises in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery for degenerative and congenital spinal conditions (including spinal stenosis, herniated discs, spondylolisthesis and cervical myelopathy), intracranial and spinal tumour surgery, and craniofacial surgery. 
As Adjunct Associate Professor at UNSW Engineering, School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, he contributes to neurosurgical technology development. 

After graduating from the University of Sydney in 1999, he completed general and subspecialty surgical terms before undertaking general surgery and neurosurgery registrar positions. He completed his neurosurgical training to become a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2009. During this period, he participated in research into the radiosurgical treatment of cerebral arteriovenous malformations, and attained a Master of Surgery from UNSW.

Following a locum neurosurgery appointment at Prince of Wales Hospital, A/Prof Reddy completed a fellowship in complex spine surgery at Toronto Western Hospital, affiliated with the University of Toronto, Canada. He then completed a fellowship in paediatric neurosurgery at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto.

He teaches undergraduate medical students and trains neurosurgical registrars at Prince of Wales Hospital.
