Biography

Rangi originally completed a Bachelor of Science at Monash University prior to her medical studies - majoring in anatomy, physiology and human pathology.

She completed her medical training at the University of Melbourne as a graduate student and, as a junior doctor, gained broad experience in paediatrics and general medicine, including volunteering in remote Northern Territory communities. These experiences led her to pursue a career in women’s health, completing specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Mercy Hospital for Women. She also holds a Master of Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales, with additional training in high-risk pregnancy, infertility, vulval dermatology and laparoscopy.

Rangi is deeply committed to research and evidence-based care. She holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne, focusing on maternal mortality, morbidity and stillbirth in the Solomon Islands. She continues her research with Mercy Perinatal and the University of Melbourne, where she is also a Senior Lecturer, mentoring medical students and junior doctors. She is passionate about patient education and hosts the Mercy Perinatal podcast Prepare.

With a strong focus on global health and advocacy, Rangi has worked extensively in the Pacific as a World Health Organization consultant and has contributed to national women’s health policy. She is the outgoing Chair of the RANZCOG Global Health Committee and remains actively involved in professional leadership.

Rangi practices publicly at the Mercy Hospital for Women and privately at Specialist 145 in Fitzroy, operating at St Vincent’s Hospital for Women and Epworth Freemasons. She provides antenatal care and gynaecological consultations across all life stages, with particular interests in menopause care, fertility, endometriosis, PCOS, vulval health and enhanced postpartum support.

Outside of work, Rangi enjoys time with her family, art, travel, food and horticulture. She is passionate about providing empathetic, individualised, evidence-based care and feels privileged to support patients throughout their health journey.

Better and fairer care. Always.

In a rapidly transforming world, St Vincent's has created a refreshed vision and strategy to help shape Australia's health and aged care future.
