Biography
Dr Rebecca Young is an experienced and certified Urogynaecologist. This means she specialises in treating conditions such as prolapse and urinary incontinence, as well as providing general gynaecological care.
Dr Young undertook her obstetrics and gynaecology training at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, with rotations at Northern Beaches, Port Macquarie, and Gosford Hospitals. She completed advanced gynaecological and laparoscopic training at Westmead Hospital and has been awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG). She subsequently undertook subspecialty training with a Fellowship in Urogynaecology at Gold Coast University Hospital (Robina and Varsity Lakes) in Queensland and St George Pelvic Floor Unit in Sydney. Dr Young enjoys teaching medical students as well as junior doctors and is a Conjoint Associate Lecturer at UNSW. She is actively involved with research in Urogynaecology and has publications in international journals.Dr Young believes in getting to know her patients and their goals, as well as performing a careful assessment prior to any treatment.
She tailors treatment to the individual and offers a full range of conservative, medical as well as surgical treatment options. Her training allows her to offer all modalities of surgical intervention including minimally invasive laparoscopic and vaginal surgery. She can also offer vNOTES hysterectomy where appropriate.
Dr Young lives on the North Shore of Sydney. She enjoys lap swimming and volunteers as a Surf Lifesaver with North Narrabeen surf lifesaving club.
