Biography

Dr Richard Pendleton is a dual specialist in pain medicine and anaesthetics with a special interest in interventional treatments for persistent pain.

Dr Richard Pendleton is a dual specialist in pain medicine and anaesthetics. He has a special interest in interventional treatments for persistent pain as a way of improving function and minimising reliance on medication.

Richard received his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Otago in New Zealand in 1998. After completing his speciality anaesthetics training, he subsequently went on to complete training in the additional specialty of pain medicine at the Professor Tess Cramond Multidisciplinary Pain Centre in Brisbane.

Richard is committed to imparting his knowledge and educating future pain medicine specialists and has spent the past 10 years training Fellows in pain medicine. In addition, he is a past Chair of the Queensland Regional Committee of the Faculty of Pain Medicine.

Although he’s been primarily based in Brisbane for almost 20 years, he regularly consults at St Vincent’s Hospital in Toowoomba.
