Biography

Dr Rizwan Sheikh is a Melbourne-based specialist plastic and reconstructive surgeon with expertise in reconstructive microsurgery and hand surgery.

Dr Sheikh is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and Fellow of the College of Plastic Surgeons of South Africa. Drawing on his extensive training, locally and overseas, he brings a breadth of experience and refined surgical skill to each patient interaction. He values time with his patients.

Dr Sheikh’s interest spans body contouring surgery following significant weight loss and hand surgery in addition to microsurgical breast reconstruction, which he routinely performs at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Eastern Health Breast and Cancer Centre. He is the Clinical Lead for complex perineal reconstruction at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. His other appointments are at Northern Private Hospital.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Sheikh is committed to advancing surgical education, mentoring future surgeons, and pursuing continuous professional development. He has presented at conferences internationally and is published in peer reviewed journals.
