Biography
Dr Shailja Singh is a paediatrician with many years’ experience ensuring the healthy development of children in the Darling Downs region.
Dr Shailja Singh is passionate about her work with children and believes that every child has the potential to flourish when nurtured.Educated and trained in Suva, Fiji, Shailja moved to Australia to pursue her interest in paediatrics in 2002, seizing the opportunity to work as a paediatric registrar in Toowoomba. Her advanced training was carried out in both regional and metropolitan hospitals across Queensland, allowing her to gain experience in paediatric and neonatal intensive care, paediatric emergency, paediatric rehabilitation, cardiology and general paediatrics. In 2016, she became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, in addition to completing a Master’s in Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
With two children of her own, Shailja understands the challenges of parenthood and finds great reward supporting children and their families through their treatment journey.
