Biography

Dr Hatzikostas is one of Melbourne’s most well-known and experienced obstetricians. He has delivered thousands of babies and is highly experienced in Obstetrics, from high-risk pregnancies to VBACs and ‘normal’ pregnancies.

Dr Hatzikostas is known for his exceptional commitment to patient care, particularly his 24/7 availability by phone. His patients appreciate being able to contact him anytime for advice or reassurance.

A Medical graduate of the University of Melbourne, Dr Hatzikostas also completed a Master’s degree at The Howard Florey Institute of Experimental Physiology and Medicine alongside his medical studies. He began his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, completing four years of physician training before pursuing his passion for both medicine and surgery through Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

After obtaining his Fellowship (FRANZCOG), he spent three years in England gaining valuable international experience. Now with over 30 years as a consultant, he brings deep expertise in managing complex obstetric and gynaecological conditions.
