Biography

Dr Steven Lane is a clinical haematologist who is interested all areas of benign and malignant haematology but has particular expertise treating myeloid disorders.


Steven graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, before going on to complete his specialist haematology training at the Princess Alexandra and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospitals.

Pursuing his interest in myeloid disorders, he travelled to the USA to undertake a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School focusing on the latest treatments for acute myeloid leukaemia.

Since his return to Brisbane in 2011, Steven has consulted at hospitals across the city. He continues to be a keen researcher and is a research laboratory head at the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute where his team focuses on developing new treatments for myeloid disorders.
