Biography

Dr Steven Yang is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in spinal and hand surgery. He has a particular interest in complex spine reconstruction, vertebral tumour surgery, and peripheral nerve surgery.

After completing his specialist training in orthopaedic surgery and becoming a Fellow of the Australasian College of Surgeons in 2004, Steven undertook additional fellowships in hand surgery and complex spine surgery. He has carried out extensive international training, holding spinal surgery fellowship appointments in Cleveland, New York, Germany, and London, where he gained experience in the latest spinal surgical techniques including treatments for complex spine deformities.

Steven's special interests include: Spinal surgery, hand surgery, complex spine reconstruction,vertebral tumour surgery, adult spine surgery, paediatric spine surgery, and peripheral nerve surgery.

Steven remains active in the academic world. He has an ongoing involvement in research for spinal infection and oncology, and holds an appointment as Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland.
