Biography
Dr Suchitra Chandar joined Advara HeartCare in 2024 and is based at North Shore Health Hub in St Leonards. She continues to provide in-patient care at Concord Hospital, North Shore Private Hospital, and The Mater Hospital in Sydney as she has been doing for a couple of decades now.
Having completed a PhD in molecular mechanisms of Familial Dilated Cardiomyopathy at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, Dr Suchitra Chandar joined Concord Hospital in Sydney as a Staff Specialist.
She completed her fellowship after basic physician training at Royal North Shore Hospital, St Leonards, NSW, and advanced training in cardiology at Concord Hospital, NSW.
She has been an active member of the teaching fraternity at University of Sydney/Concord Clinical School, and has served in roles including Honours Programme Coordinator, Clinical Tutor, Senior Lecturer, and as Director of Physician Training.
She brings with her a varied and extensive international experience having worked in India, West Indies, and the Middle East. She is fluent in a number of Indian languages.
