Biography

Dr. Sugitha Seneviratne is an Australian-trained specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons since 2003. With extensive experience in plastic surgery, she has performed thousands of procedures, including advanced microsurgery.

Since 2003, Dr. Seneviratne has served as a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and is an Honorary Clinical Fellow of the Department of Surgery, University of Melbourne. She was also the Head of the Plastic, Maxillofacial and Hand Surgery Unit of the Northern Hospital for five years. In addition, she was appointed Non-Executive Director of Clinical Governance (part-time) at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2015, reflecting her commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

In 2007, Dr. Seneviratne co-founded Northern Plastic Surgery, and in 2008, she had the privilege of taking over the private practice of Professor Donald Marshall in Kew. In 2015, she co-founded NorthEast Plastic Surgery alongside Mr. Patrick Tansley, expanding the practice to both Melbourne and Brisbane. Dr. Seneviratne performs all aspects of reconstructive plastic surgery, including skin cancer and hand surgery, with a particular interest in procedures, such as:

- Facial Surgery

- Breast Surgery: Augmentation (implants/fat grafting), implant removal (including total “en bloc” capsulectomy where appropriate), breast reduction, and mastopexy (breast lift) surgery.

- Post-Weight Loss & Post-Pregnancy Surgery: Plastic and reconstructive procedures to restore body shape and function such as Brachioplasty (arm lift) and thigh reduction and gynaecomastia (male chest reduction).
