Biography

Dr Vidhya Chandran is a Gastroenterologist consulting at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside.

Dr Chandran obtained her medical degree from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland in 2013. She completed her basic physician training and subsequent gastroenterology training through Lyell McEwin Hospital, Royal Adelaide Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in South Australia. She was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2021.

Dr Chandran subsequently undertook a hepatology fellowship at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in 2022, specialising in the management of a wide range of liver diseases including fatty liver disease, viral and autoimmune hepatitis. She has presented at both national and international conferences and has published papers in peer reviewed journals.

In addition to the management of general gastroenterology disorders including bowel cancer screening, iron deficiency and functional gastroenterology disorders, Dr Chandran has a special interest in chronic liver diseases.

Dr Chandran strives to provide high quality, personalised and holistic care to her patients in an approachable and timely manner as part of the Digestive Disease Queensland group.
