Biography

Dr. Viju Joseph Abraham is a FRACS accredited Cardiothoracic Surgeon currently serving as a Consultant at multiple public and private hospitals in Melbourne. With an extensive international career spanning India and Australia, he brings over two decades of medical expertise and specialized surgical training to his practice.

He has completed advanced fellowships at premier institutions, including The Alfred Hospital, The Royal Melbourne Hospital, and St Vincent’s Health, Melbourne.

He has contributed to a number of peer reviewed publications and book chapters on topics ranging from total arterial coronary revascularisation tochest trauma management.

Special interests include:

• Advanced Coronary Revascularization: Total arterial coronary revascularization, off-pump CABG.
• Heart Valve Interventions: Complex multivalve interventions, mitral valve repair and otherstructural heart interventions
• Thoracic & Specialized Procedures: Proficient in VATS (Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery) and openmanagement of the spectrum of thoracic and lung disease
