Biography
Dr John Bailie is a UK- and Australia-trained urologist, experienced at managing a range of urological conditions including urological cancers, urinary stone disease and benign prostatic hyperplasia.
He completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Dundee, Scotland in 2007. Dr Bailie underwent urology training in the North-East of England region. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.Dr Bailie moved to Australia to undertake a two-year fellowship at Monash Health, Melbourne in early 2018. He has been based in Brisbane since 2020 and is a Staff Specialist at Redcliffe Hospital. In addition, Dr Bailie maintains an active private practice at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside.
Dr Bailie practices across the spectrum of urology, with a particular focus on minimally invasive techniques, including laparoscopic surgery, percutaneous nephrolithotomy for complex stone disease and holmium laser enucleation of the prostate.
Dr Bailie has a Master’s degree in Medical Education and is a Lecturer at The University of Queensland. He is committed to clinical research and has collaborated on several clinical trials in the UK and Australia. Dr Bailie has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented research at national and international meetings.
