Biography

Mr Anand Ramakrishnan is a plastic, reconstructive and craniofacial surgeon consulting at St Vincent’s Private Hospitals. His focus is on producing the best possible outcomes for both all-important functionality as well as aesthetic purposes.

Mr Ramakrishnan performs the full breadth of plastic surgery with a special interest in reconstructive microsurgery for head and neck cancer and facial fracture management, skin cancer, hand, face and body surgery.

Anand completed his specialist training in plastic surgery and undertook additional fellowships in paediatric craniofacial surgery in Canada at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto and in Melbourne at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. He has a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Melbourne for work on stem cell biology in addition to a Master of Public Health in International and Refugee Health.

Anand is involved in teaching trainee plastic surgeons and medical students as well as being actively involved in clinical research. He is a member of Interplast Australia and New Zealand – providing pro-bono surgery to people throughout Asia-Pacific.
