Biography

Mr Joseph Crameri is a Melbourne-based paediatric surgeon who undertakes complex paediatric surgeries. He’s renowned for his friendly, approachable manner and ability to put both his young patients and their parents at ease.

Mr Crameri has a clinical interest in thoracic conditions, neonatal and laparoscopic procedures, and chest wall reconstruction.

Joseph completed his training and spent a further year at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne working as a fellow to gain experience with both thoracic and neonatal surgery. He then undertook a post in Manchester, England, widening his experience with complex abdominal, neonatal and thoracic surgery.

In 1998, he returned to Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital to take up a role as a paediatric surgeon. At this time Joseph was appointed as Head of Trauma and was involved in the development of the state-wide trauma service and the Victoria State Trauma Outcomes Registry.
