Biography
Mr Philip Dundee is a specialist urological surgeon with expertise in robot-assisted, advanced laparoscopic and general urologic surgery. He has a special interest in prostate cancer, bladder cancer and kidney cancer and has established a robot-assisted cystectomy program.
Mr Dundee has expertise in robotic and advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques and urologic cancers. He believes in individualised care, with a strong focus on the doctor-patient relationship. He takes the time to ensure that all patients are fully informed and are involved in the decision-making process.Phil endeavours to deliver the kind of care that he would expect for his own family.
Phil graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2000 with degrees in science, medicine and surgery. He undertook his surgical training in Melbourne, after which he travelled to the UK and spent a year with one of the world’s most experienced laparoscopic surgeons. Phil was then appointed consultant at the prestigious Guy’s and St Thomas’ in London, where he undertook training in robot-assisted surgery.
Phil has established himself as a high volume robotic and laparoscopic specialist and has performed over 800 robot-assisted and laparoscopic surgeries. He has pioneered a number of other robotic surgeries in Melbourne, including Retzius sparing radical prostatectomy.
As well as his passion for surgery, Phil is committed to teaching the next generation of urologists and keeping up with advances in surgery and medicine.
