Biography

Professor David Ma is a haematologist focused on haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and translational research of normal and malignant stem cells.

Professor David Ma graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from University of New South Wales. He completed his haematopathology training in Sydney.
He has successfully taken research discoveries to the bedside and has been instrumental in establishing many of the clinical HSCT procedures and current clinical trials including HSCT for severe autoimmune diseases and HIV.

David has contributed to over 150 peer-reviewed scientific publications. He holds leadership or scientific membership positions in a number of national and international scientific communities including the World Network for Blood and Marrow Transplantation. As well as contributing to scientific communities, he is committed to the training of health professionals within Australia and overseas, and educating the public.
