Biography

Prof Carroll has been co-principal of Cardiology at The Mater since its establishment in 2011.

Prof Carroll is a St Vincent’s trained cardiologist with over twenty eight years experience as a consultant physician and cardiologist. He has expertise in the sub-specialties of general and interventional cardiology; and complex internal medicine. Prof Carroll has also enjoyed a long-running involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and holds conjoint professorial appointments with the University of New South Wales and the University of Notre Dame Australia. He is a longstanding member of the National Examination Panel of the Royal Australian College of Physicians. He has a longstanding interest in the expansion of specialist services in regional Australia and remains Principal of Riverina Cardiology in Wagga Wagga.
 
Prof Carroll was awarded Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for 2005 for “Service to medicine as a cardiologist and as a general physician, particularly through the provision of health services to regional and rural areas, and to medical education".
