Biography

Professor Peter Cosman is a general surgeon specialising in upper gastrointestinal and pancreatic surgery with expertise in laparoscopic and robotic-assisted techniques.

Prof Peter Cosman has extensive experience in surgery for cancer of the pancreas, oesophagus, and stomach, as well as surgical procedures for weight loss, gallstones, pancreatic diseases, hiatus hernia, and gastro-oesophageal reflux. He also performs diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy, and emergency and trauma surgery.

Peter is actively involved in clinical research that investigates ways in which to improve gastrointestinal cancer diagnosis and treatment options. His research has been published in leading medical journals and presented at expert meetings.

He is also involved in passing on his knowledge to the next generation of medical professionals and enjoys teaching medical students, junior doctors and nurses, postgraduate healthcare professionals, and specialist surgical trainees.
