Biography

Prof Robert Briggs is a Melbourne-based ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeon who sub-specialises in otolaryngology (head and neck surgery). He has an affable manner and is focused on achieving the best possible results.

Prof Briggs is experienced in otology, acoustic neuromas and cochlear implantation.

After completing otolaryngology (head and neck) surgery training in Melbourne in 1989, Robert undertook a further 3 years of clinical fellowship training at Johns Hopkins Hospital in the USA, the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital in London and at the House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles.

Robert is involved in research and has focused on cochlear implant electrode development and safety as well as the management of neurofibromatosis type 2 and the role of auditory brainstem implantation.
