Oncology Symposium - Prostate Cancer Session

Prostate cancer is a common malignancy that general practitioners encounter. GPs play a key role in early detection, diagnosis, and management. 

This session of the Oncology Symposium will support GPs to identify key indicators and symptoms of prostate cancer and provide effective, evidence-based care for their patients.

  • Explain the current approaches to managing men with elevated PSA levels, including the use of MRI, biopsy, and other diagnostic tools. 
  • Implement the RACGP “Check” resource effectively in clinical practice.
  • Compare the management strategies for elevated PSA levels today versus five years ago, including watchful waiting, prostatectomy, and radiation therapy.
