Multidisciplinary Cancer Care

At St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne, we strive to provide our Oncology patients with the best holistic care and support. Our goal is to ensure patients are empowered and engaged during their cancer journey in terms of managing common treatment side effects, maintaining physical function and quality of life. 

We are pleased to offer St Vincent’s Private Day Oncology patients a rolling program of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy virtual education sessions. These education sessions can be accessed at any time during a patient’s cancer journey. I.E. At diagnosis; commencement of treatment; pre or post surgery; or into survivorship phase and beyond.

There is increasing evidence about the importance of exercise both during and after cancer treatment. In fact, Oncology Rehabilitation is now considered part of standard cancer care.

Occupational Therapy Education (Weekly, every Monday at 11.30am)

The primary goal of Occupational Therapy is to enable people to participate in activities of everyday life.  During cancer treatment, some of the symptoms that people experience can have a significant impact on the ability to complete these everyday activities.


Our Occupational Therapy virtual education sessions will cover a variety of topics, covered on a weekly rotation:

How to Join

Classes are run using Microsoft Teams. We recommend using a computer with a microphone, but an iPad or iPhone will also work. You do not need to download any software but if you don’t have access to a microphone to ask questions you can also type questions in the chat box.
