Biography

Associate Professor Ronald Siu is a consultant neurologist with extensive experience in clinical practice, teaching, and research.

He graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and Bachelor of Medical Science, completing his research at the Royal Melbourne Hospital’s Neuropsychiatry Unit on cognitive function. His early medical training was undertaken in Brisbane, followed by general medicine and neurology advanced training in Sydney and New Zealand, before returning to Queensland to continue his career.

Dr Siu holds both a Master of Public Health and a Master of Philosophy, with his thesis focused on neurogenetics. He also spent time at the National Institutes of Health (Bethesda, USA) as part of his research training. He has held academic positions with Griffith University, the University of Queensland, and the University of Wollongong, and is currently an Associate Professor at Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University. He previously served as Academic Lead for Year 3 Medicine at the Rural Clinical Unit in Toowoomba and is a local examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians’ specialist examinations.

Dr Siu provides private outpatient consultations at Toowoomba Neurology and inpatient care at St Andrew’s Hospital and St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Toowoomba. He previously worked as a Staff Specialist Neurologist and Clinical Director of Neurology at Toowoomba Hospital.

He manages all types of neurological disorders, with a special interest in headache disorders. He has completed the Headache Master program in Australia, coordinated by the Australian and New Zealand Headache Society.
