Biography

Dr Akhil Gupta is an Obstetric Medicine Physician / Endocrinologist, who serves as a Staff Specialist at Blacktown Hospital, Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at Ryde Hospital, and in private practice with Sydney Endocrinology.  At Mt Druitt Hospital, Dr Gupta assisted with the formation of a monthly pregnancy clinic for women identifying as Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander.

Known for his commitment to optimal outcomes for women with medical disorders in pregnancy including diabetes, thyroid disorders, hypertension, clotting disorders, auto-immune disorders (and many others), Dr Gupta also undertakes clinical research at Western Sydney University.  His projects investigate placental health including pregnancy outcomes for mother and child.
 
Dr Gupta has notably published his research findings with international journals (in the UK and USA) and is regularly invited to attend for presentation of his findings at national conferences in the field of pregnancy and diabetes. Dr Gupta is committed to teaching the next generation and is also a Lecturer with Western Sydney University.  Through his network and reach, Dr Gupta delivers world-class care for his patients based on the latest updates from subject matter experts around the world including newest diabetes technologies such as insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM).
