Biography

Dr Aparna Ramachandran is an obstetrician and Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) subspecialist with a warm, personalised approach to pregnancy care. She consults privately on the Lower North Shore, and is also a staff specialist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Working across both public and private practice, Aparna cares for women with normal-risk and high-risk pregnancies. Her subspecialty training gives her particular expertise in managing complex pregnancies, while her focus remains on the woman and family in front of her. She believes that every pregnancy is unique, and that the best outcomes come from individualised care, open communication and genuine collaboration with women and their families and any other care providers.

Aparna provides comprehensive care at every stage of the journey, including:
  • Preconception counselling and pregnancy planning
  • Antenatal care including early pregnancy care
  • Labour and delivery
  • Postpartum care
Where needed, she also performs diagnostic ultrasound to closely monitor pregnancy complications, so that many aspects of your care can be provided in one place by someone who knows you and your pregnancy.
