Biography
Dr Hopkins is an Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric surgeon at St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside.
Most of Dr Hopkins' general surgical practice is in the field of bariatric and revisional bariatric procedures. He is in private practice at the Chermside Medical Complex and a Public Consultant at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
In the last two decades, Dr Hopkins has been a leading exponent of new and emerging bariatric procedures and techniques. He has published a number of articles in both local and international peer reviewed journals, and presented at multiple meetings throughout Australia.
Dr Hopkins has memberships with the following institutions: Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons; Australian & New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society (ANZMOSS); International Hepatopancreatobiliary Association; and Australian Hepatopancreatobiliary Association. Dr Hopkins is a past president of the Australian & New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society (ANZMOSS).
