Biography

Dr Paul Jansz is a pioneer of cardiothoracic and transplant surgery in Australia. He’s the head of the mechanical circulatory assist program and the minimally-invasive and robotic surgical program.

Dr Jansz completed his undergraduate studies in 1992 at the University of Newcastle, and cardiac surgical training at St Vincent's, Royal Prince Alfred and Westmead Hospitals. His research pedigree is extensive, culminating in a PhD in transplantation in 2003 from University of New South Wales.

After completing his training in Australia, Paul worked and trained in the UK and since returning to St Vincent’s holds a leadership role at St Vincent’s Heart & Lung Transplant centre and is certified in the Total Artificial Heart Program. He also has had principal involvement in the provision of ECMO services to NSW.
