Biography

Dr Phong Nguyen is a rehabilitation medicine physician with a particular interest in neurological, orthopaedic and amputee rehabilitation, as well as chronic pain management, and reconditioning.

Tasmania-born Phong was raised and educated in Hobart, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery with honours from the University of Tasmania in 2006.

He undertook his advanced rehabilitation training at The Lady Davidson Private Hospital — Australia’s largest dedicated rehabilitation hospital — before relocating to Brisbane to complete his training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he gained experience in spinal injury rehabilitation.

Phong enjoys educating Queensland’s future rehabilitation specialists. He holds an appointment as Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland, and is a clinical supervisor of advanced rehabilitation trainees.
