Biography

Dr Rajan Rehan is a cardiologist with an interest in complex high-risk PCI (stenting), ANOCA/INOCA, and transcatheter structural heart intervention. He has a clinical focus on invasive coronary function testing and has been involved in developing diagnostic and treatment approaches for ANOCA in Australia and internationally.

His technical expertise spans intravascular imaging (OCT/IVUS), coronary physiology, and advanced calcium modification, including intravascular lithotripsy, rotational atherectomy, and excimer laser atherectomy. He has independently performed a high volume of percutaneous coronary interventions, including high-risk cases requiring mechanical circulatory support. He also performs a comprehensive range of structural heart procedures, including TAVI, TEER, LAAO, and PFO closure.
Dr Rehan is committed to evidence-based, patient-centred care with an emphasis on clear communication and shared decision-making. Dr Rehan completed Advanced Cardiology Training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, followed by an Interventional Research Fellowship at Royal Prince Alfred and Concord Hospitals. His NHMRC-funded PhD at the University of Sydney focused on invasive coronary function testing in ANOCA.

He subsequently completed dual international Interventional Cardiology Fellowships at St Thomas’ Hospital and Royal Brompton Hospital in London. He holds FASE, FCSANZ, and Level A CT Coronary Angiography accreditation and serves as Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney. His research has been recognised with the ANZET Early Career Research Award (2023) and Ralph Reader Prize Finalist (2024), along with regular invitations.
