Biography

Dr Richard Kahler is a neurosurgeon specialising in neurosurgery, spinal surgery and oncology.

Dr Richard Kahler is a neurosurgeon offering his patients comprehensive treatment solutions that use the latest technological and medical advances including minimally-invasive and computer-guided techniques.

A Brisbane-native, Richard graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and went on to complete his specialist training in Townsville, Brisbane and Perth. He undertook further training in advanced spinal surgery at the Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, UK, where the focus of his experience was complex and computer-guided spinal surgery.

Since returning to Brisbane in 2000, Richard has established a successful private practice and consulted at hospitals across the city. He holds appointments as Associate Professor at Bond University and Senior Lecturer at Griffith University, and is the Director of Newro: a non-profit organisation for neuroscience research.
