Biography

Dr Timothy Matthews is an ear, nose and throat surgeon with sub-specialty training in ear surgery and diseases. He prides himself on providing compassionate and safe expert care to the people he sees.

Dr Timothy Matthews has a keen interest in minimally-invasive endoscopic ear surgery, chronic ear disease surgery, and hearing implants, including the Cochlear implant.

Timothy graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics in 2005, before completing his medical degree, graduating with honours, from the University of Sydney in 2009. He then undertook his specialist ENT training to become a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2017. During this time he received training at a number of urban, rural and remote hospitals across Australia, including St Vincent’s, Canberra and Darwin Hospitals.

Seeking further specialised training in otology and neurotology, Timothy pursued fellowship training at Dalhousie University in Canada, gaining experience in advanced otology procedures including the management of hearing implantation, skull base tumours and chronic ear disease.
