Biography

Professor Joanne Shaw Dr Joanne Shaw is a Brisbane-based endocrinologist consulting at St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside. She specialises in all aspects of general endocrinology.

Associate Professor Joanne Shaw graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School with First Class Honours and a University Medal.  She was elected Rhodes Scholar for Australia-At-Large, and completed her DPhil at Magdalen College Oxford with a thesis entitled “Genetic and Environmental Contributions to Type II Diabetes”.  She completed physician training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane and received her FRACP fellowship in endocrinology.  Her clinical interests are in the holistic care of patients with diabetes and other endocrine disorders through the application of the latest research findings to improve health outcomes.
