Biography

Professor Steven Faux specialises in pain management and general rehabilitation.

Professor Faux is the Director of the Departments of Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney and a conjoint academic at the University of New South Wales and the University of Notre Dame.

Doctors refer patients to him with arthritis, stroke, back and neck pain, joint replacements, fractures, difficulty walking, difficulty with self-care and incontinence. His research interests focus on the management of spasticity, trauma management and stroke rehabilitation.

Professor Faux established the Rehabilitation Unit at St Vincent's Hospital in 2000. It has grown into a 32 bed unit, with 6 outpatient clinics, 2 country clinics, a research program, and a teaching program for trainees in rehabilitation medicine.
