A World First!

Orthopaedic surgeon Mr John O’Donnell performs his 10,000th Hip Arthroscopy operation at St Vincent’s Private Hospital East Melbourne.

Mr O’Donnell has been performing hip arthroscopy, also known as keyhole surgery, to repair damaged hips since 1992.

He was an early pioneer of this minimally invasive surgical technique, developed to reduce post-operative pain and provide a faster recovery. He has now helped 10,000 people return to an active life and his latest patient,

Catherine Norris, plans to walk the 500 mile Camino trail across Spain for her next birthday!

Congratulations Mr John O’Donnell on this remarkable achievement.

Better and fairer care. Always.

In a rapidly transforming world, St Vincent's has created a refreshed vision and strategy to help shape Australia's health and aged care future.
