St Vincent’s Toowoomba new ED open 24/7

In an emergency, knowing you have 24/7 access to specialist medical and first-class nursing care is critical.

St Vincent’s Toowoomba’s new emergency department has more than doubled the number of treatment areas that were in the previous unit so we can provide timely, expert care.

The state-of-the-art facility also houses Queensland X-ray’s new radiology service and links directly to the main hospital’s theatres and wards.

Completion of the $15 million facility was made possible thanks to a $3.5 million donation by local philanthropist Clive Berghofer.

The ED is easier to access because it has road frontage on the south-west corner of the hospital campus bordering Mackenzie and Herries streets.

Other recent infrastructure additions at the hospital have included the Clive Berghofer Operating Theatre Suite which opened in January 2018, adding six new state-of-the-art operating theatres, a new kitchen, and a new main reception area, and an updated birth suite which opened in early 2020.

Better and fairer care. Always.

In a rapidly transforming world, St Vincent's has created a refreshed vision and strategy to help shape Australia's health and aged care future.
