Biography

A/Prof Brooke Short is a Consultant Psychiatrist at USpace and a Staff Specialist Psychiatrist at St Vincent's Hospital.

She is also the Clinical Lead of the Psychosis Early Intervention and Prevention of Disability (PEIPOD) program, an early intervention service for young people in the St Vincent’s Hospital catchment area with emerging mental health conditions.

A/Prof Short’s research is focused on healthcare quality and improvement, promotion of wellbeing and early intervention. This has included work with the World Health Organization (WHO) to enhance community mental health services. Locally, A/Prof Short has worked with the NSW Ministry of Health and developed a co-designed Quality and Safety Framework for NSW mental health services based on improvement science methodologies.
 
She currently holds an academic role with the University of Notre Dame and has had past appointments with the University of NSW and the University of Newcastle.  
 
A/Prof Brooke Short has admitting rights to the USpace Young Adult Mental Health Service where she is an admitting doctor for both outpatient and inpatient services.
