Biography

Dr Claudia Stretch BSc, MBBS, FRACP is a Consultant Geriatrician based in North Sydney with expertise in the comprehensive assessment and management of older adults across hospital and outpatient settings. She provides holistic, patient-centred care with a focus on promoting healthy ageing, maintaining independence and supporting quality of life.

Dr Stretch graduated from the University of Sydney School of Medicine and also holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of New South Wales.  She completed her physician and subspecialty training in Geriatric Medicine at St Vincent's, Prince of Wales and St George Hospitals. Dr Stretch is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine. 

Her clinical practice encompasses the management of patients with complex multimorbidity, delirium, dementia, polypharmacy, frailty and falls prevention.  She has particular interests in comprehensive geriatric assessments, perioperative medicine and oncogeriatrics, supporting older adults through complex medical and surgical decision-making to achieve the best outcomes.

Dr Stretch’s approach emphasises understanding what matters most to each person, working closely with families, carers and referring practitioners to develop individualised management plans that optimise function, independence and wellbeing.
