Biography

Dr Daniel Berge is a pain medicine and anaesthetics specialist interested in interventional pain treatments for persistent pain conditions aiming to improve function and decrease analgesic reliance.

Dr Daniel Berge is a pain medicine specialist and anaesthetist with an interest in interventional pain medicine treatments for persistent pain conditions with an aim to improve function and decrease reliance on analgesia.

Originally from South Africa, Daniel graduated medicine from the University of Cape Town and went on to complete his specialist anaesthetic training in London. Pursuing his interest in pain medicine, he undertook his fellowship training at St Thomas’s, Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital and the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

Daniel is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) and the Faculty of Pain Medicine of ANZCA, and is also a certified independent medical examiner for the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners.

Outside of his practice he has published multiple scholarly articles in pain medicine and management, and has also presented at scientific meetings both nationally and internationally.
