Biography

Mr Shane Blackmore is a Melbourne-based orthopaedic surgeon specialising in sports injuries with an aim to assist sports professionals and weekend warriors to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Mr Shane Blackmore was one of the first surgeons trained and accredited to use robot-assisted surgery in Victoria.

He utilises the latest arthroscopic techniques for knee ligament reconstruction (ACL), meniscal repair and transplant. He is also proficient in joint and cartilage restoration, shoulder stabilisation, repairs of rotator cuffs and labral tears of the hip.

Shane graduated from the University of Melbourne and received his orthopaedic training in Australia before undertaking further training internationally in New York and London. He has also managed sports injuries for colleges and professional athletes in both the USA and UK.

Shane is also involved in training the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons and has a number of peer-reviewed published articles.
